The Manitoba invitation round on September 24, 2026 issued 474 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) in Round 280. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) reported that 148 of the LAAs went to Express Entry-linked candidates.

MPNP Round 280 results

The round considered 417 top-scoring profiles declaring current employment in Manitoba in Broad Occupational Category 2, Natural and applied sciences and related occupations. The minimum score for this selection was 760.

One invitation went to a profile declaring current employment in Manitoba in unit group NOC 31102.

The MPNP also considered profiles from candidates who declared French as their language of communication with the program and had a valid French-language test result. This selection issued 16 invitations.

A further 40 invitations went to profiles submitted through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway or the Skilled Worker Overseas pathway that declared a direct MPNP invitation under a strategic recruitment initiative.

  • Total invitations: 474
  • Express Entry-linked LAAs: 148
  • Strategic recruitment initiative invitations: 40, including Employer Services (9), Ethnocultural Communities (9), Francophone Community (6), Regional Communities (15) and the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (1)

Selection criteria and EOI information

The MPNP said Skilled Worker Stream expressions of interest were considered only where candidates had been directly invited under a strategic recruitment initiative or through the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates.

Candidates who meet a listed selection criterion but do not receive an LAA may have indicated an approved third-party English or French language test without providing a valid test number in their EOI, or may have a test result that is no longer valid. The same may apply where a candidate indicated an invitation under a strategic recruitment initiative but did not provide a valid invitation number.

The program said candidates in these situations may update their EOI with correct information for consideration in a future draw.

The MPNP also noted that candidates who indicated they work in a regulated occupation and are fully licensed in Manitoba were selected in this draw. However, the program may not accept or may refuse a full application if a candidate is not actually working in a regulated occupation or cannot provide proof of completing the necessary licensing steps for employment in Manitoba. The MPNP said candidates in that situation may wish to consider declining their LAA.
