Manitoba issued 1,304 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) in its October 22, 2026 Expression of Interest Draw #282, compared with 340 in the previous round. The two rounds targeted different groups, with the latest draw placing its largest share of invitations with profiles reporting Manitoba post-secondary education.

Manitoba’s October 22, 2026 draw results
Of the 1,304 LAAs, 353 went to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code. These 353 LAAs are included in the total, not additional invitations.
- Completed post-secondary study in Manitoba: 734 LAAs went to top-scoring profiles declaring that the applicant or their spouse completed post-secondary education in Manitoba. The minimum score was 816.
- Skilled Worker in Manitoba: 513 LAAs went to all eligible Skilled Worker in Manitoba profiles. The minimum score was 846.
- Strategic recruitment initiatives: 57 LAAs went to profiles submitted under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba or Skilled Worker Overseas pathway that declared they had been directly invited by the MPNP under a strategic recruitment initiative. No minimum score was published for this selection.
Strategic recruitment breakdown
Employer Services received 21 LAAs; Ethnocultural Communities, two; the Francophone Community, 16; Regional Communities, 15; and the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates (TPP), three.
How Draw #282 compares with Draw #281
The 1,304 LAAs were approximately 3.8 times the 340 issued in Draw #281 on October 8, 2026. The earlier round included occupation-targeted selections; Draw #282 instead included a Manitoba post-secondary education selection and one considering all eligible Skilled Worker in Manitoba profiles. This change in selection mix means the larger total alone does not show that eligibility became easier.
- Express Entry-linked LAAs increased from 103 to 353; these are subsets of each round’s total.
- Strategic recruitment initiative LAAs decreased from 83 to 57. Scores from different selections should not be compared as a single province-wide cutoff.
What invited candidates should check
Education documents: Candidates selected for Manitoba post-secondary study must be able to provide a diploma and transcript showing that they or their spouse completed a post-secondary program in Manitoba. Those unable to demonstrate this may wish to consider declining their LAA.
Occupational licensing: Manitoba says candidates who declared that they work in a regulated occupation and are fully licensed in the province were selected. The province may not accept or may refuse an application if the candidate is not actually working in that occupation or cannot document the required licensing steps.
Profile details: An otherwise eligible profile may miss an LAA if an approved English or French language test number is missing or the test has expired. Candidates declaring a strategic recruitment invitation must also provide a valid invitation number. Manitoba advises checking the EOI help text when updating these details before a future draw.
What receiving an LAA means
An LAA allows a selected candidate to apply to the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. It is not a provincial nomination, a federal invitation to apply or permanent resident approval.
