The round considered health workers employed in Manitoba, French-speaking candidates, Manitoba post-secondary education graduates and candidates invited through specified recruitment initiatives.
Who was considered in the Manitoba draw
The largest selection issued 508 Letters of Advice to Apply to top-scoring profiles where the applicant or their spouse declared completion of post-secondary education in Manitoba. The minimum score for this selection was 825.
Manitoba also considered all profiles declaring current employment in the province in Broad Occupational Category 3, health occupations. This selection resulted in 233 invitations.
A further 11 invitations went to profiles that declared French as their language of communication with the MPNP and had a valid French-language test result.
Strategic recruitment invitations
The round included 41 invitations for profiles submitted under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway or the Skilled Worker Overseas pathway that declared they had been directly invited by the MPNP through a strategic recruitment initiative.
These invitations were distributed among Employer Services, Ethnocultural Communities, the Francophone Community, Regional Communities and the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates.

Express Entry-linked invitations and candidate information
Of the 793 Letters of Advice to Apply issued in Draw 279, 272 were issued to candidates who declared a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.
The MPNP said Skilled Worker Stream expressions of interest were considered only where candidates had been directly invited through a strategic recruitment initiative or through the Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Program Candidates.
Candidates who met a listed selection criterion but did not receive a Letter of Advice to Apply may need to review information in their expression of interest, including valid language test details or a valid strategic recruitment invitation number.
Candidates selected under the completed post-secondary study in Manitoba selection must be able to provide documents showing that they or their spouse completed a post-secondary program in Manitoba, including a diploma and transcript. The MPNP also noted that candidates working in regulated occupations must be able to demonstrate the required licensing steps for employment in Manitoba.
